Two Native Doctors, Many Arrested For attacking Police Officers In Delta

 

Two suspected native doctors, elders and scores of other persons have been arrested in Egbo-Uhurie community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta state, for allegedly attacking police officers and preventing  them to effect an arrest
It was learned that the police officer whose identity could not be ascertained was alleged stabbed on the neck with several bruises on his eyes last Monday.
Efforts to speak with the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe was not successful as calls to his mobile line were not connecting as at the time of this report.
A security source who spoke on anonymous condition disclosed that the police had gone to Egbo-Uhurie community make an arrest.
“On getting there, they were prevented from effecting the arrest and in the process, they attacked the security men and inflicted injuries on one of them.
“Two suspected native doctors, some elders and youths from the community were arrested by security operatives detached from the Ughelli Area Command and they are currently being detained pending when comprehensive investigations is concluded.
According to a community source, “The Police enters this afternoon and arrested some elders while holding a meeting in the Town hall and destroyed some properties”
In a video, the community accused the police officers of destroying peoples vehicles, the town hall and arresting some elders.
